The Republic of Ireland’s all-time record goalscorer will make his 100th appearance for us in the Premiership if he features against Blackburn Rovers.
Fans favourite Robbie has scored 38 goals in his 99 league games so far, comprising of 83 starts and 16 substitute appearances. He also has eight goals in 20 cup ties.
Two of those league goals have come at Ewood Park and both have meant that something extra — he scored his first goal for us there in October 2002 and his winner last season set us off on a run of four-successive victories, securing the Manager of the Month Award for Martin Jol in December 2004.
“Blackburn is a tough place to go but in the last couple of seasons Ewood Park has been a good ground for us, so hopefully that will continue,” said Robbie.
”Blackburn got a good result against Fulham on Saturday so they’ll be on a high and in Mark Hughes they’ve got a tremendous manager, someone I’ve got a lot of respect for and who will do well there.
“It’s nice to reach that 100-game milestone and hopefully we can cap it off with a win.
”I’ve been lucky enough that every club I’ve been at the crowd has always been good to me and Tottenham is no different, they’ve been tremendous.
“The reception I got when I came on against Middlesbrough on Saturday was fantastic and long may that continue. I’ve got to keep producing on the pitch, that’s most important thing and the crowd appreciate that.”
Robbie Keane hopes to strike again at one of his happiest hunting grounds as he reaches another milestone for us on Wednesday night.
