Robbie Keane has expressed his approval over the naming of Stephen Kelly in the starting line-up for the Republic of Ireland's clash with Chile on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old former captain of his country's under-21 side will play at right back in the friendly international against the South Americans and Robbie's message to his club teammate was simple - enjoy it.

"I am delighted for Stephen, he is getting the chance to play for his country and it is a great honour for anyone," said the national team skipper.

"He is a great player, a proper defender who likes to defend - he'll do ever so well for us. I've told him just to go out and enjoy it and treat it like any other game, even though it is not in some respects.

"He just needs to play the way he has with Tottenham and if he does that he will have no problems."
