After signing for the club on a 12-month loan spell in January, the Japanese international familiarised himself with the English game turning out for Colin Calderwood's reserve side before being awarded a first team taster at the end of February and two starts near the end of the season
The midfielder explains that he does not feel he displayed his full potential, but did relish the experience.
"Of course, I was not satisfied," said Kazu. "I think I showed some good things, but I also showed some bad things.
"I felt many good things and learned very much - I did enjoy it."
It was not easy for tenacious middle-man to come into a new club mid-season without the benefit of being comfortable with the language or a pre-season behind him.
"Yes, but I tried to adapt as much as possible," he added. "I wanted to understand English football - every day I tried to understand more.
"I have some experience now and have more time to prepare for next season. I am very much looking forward to it."
With his ever-improving English, Kazu finished by saying we could see one of his famous hairstyles before too long.
"Yes! In the future - maybe a blue one..."
Kazuyuki Toda feels that he did not do himself justice when given first team opportunities towards the end of last season.
