Kasey Keller says the pressure likely to be cranked up by the media ahead of Southampton's visit to the Lane must be used as an added motivation to succeed.
After two positive results against Leeds and Liverpool, the team dropped their guard in their two most recent outings against Fulham and Chelsea and the USA international insist that a positive response is vital against the Saints on Saturday.
"It is pressure on the Southampton game and we need to respond to it," said the goalkeeper. "I don't mind pressure, the one thing it should do is get you extremely motivated to work extremely hard and that is always a good starting point.
"Even if things aren't going well, you can always work to 110 per cent, tackle, close people down and fight defensively for your team.
"That's what pressure does and let's see how we respond on Saturday."
