The 44-year-old former goalkeeper, who made 99 appearances in all competitions for us between 2001 and 2005 before joining German side Borussia Monchengladbach, these days works as a TV pundit in his native America.
He still maintains a close association with hometown club Seattle Sounders - one of the MLS teams we’ll be facing on this summer’s tour of the US and Canada - having played for them between 2009 and 2011.
And having made a number of good friends throughout his career, in particular here at White Hart Lane, the former USA international is glad to see many of them keeping busy.
“From Steffen Freund to Christian Ziege to Gus Poyet - I made lots of friends at Spurs,” Kasey said.
“It’s good to see Steffen involved on the coaching staff at Spurs these days. We had a lot of fun when we were at the club together and Christian Ziege was also a great guy. He was actually a big reason why I got to go to Borussia Monchengladbach – he was there already and that really worked out.
“I’m still hoping Gus can keep Sunderland up although I know Spurs didn’t help too much by beating them 5-1 the other week!
“There were others too - Mauricio Taricco, who is obviously with Gus at Sunderland, Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, who I saw the other day when Sounders played Toronto. I have a lot of good memories from my time with them.”
