Our ever-present number one will repair the wear and tear in both elbows but is still hoping to return in time to join the USA's bid for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.
However, surgery will keep him out of the FIFA Confederations Cup in France in June.
Speaking after Wednesday's friendly against DC United in Washington, Kasey explained: "My right elbow has been a little problem for about six weeks after I landed and took a chip out it.
"The left elbow just needs to be cleaned out. It's locking up on me every once in a while and now is a good time to do it rather than wake up one day in January not being able to move my arm.
"It won't be a problem though. I'm sure I'll be ready for the Gold Cup and back on a golf course inside a week!"
Kasey Keller has confirmed that he will undergo surgery on his elbows in the States.
