Juande Ramos declared himself satisfied after Saturday's friendly win against CD Denia at our Spanish training camp.
Goals from Adel Taraabt, Jermaine Jenas, Darren Bent and an own goal set-up by Andros Townsend secured a 4-2 victory against the team from the Segunda Division B, Group Three, of La Liga.
It made it two wins out of two in training ground friendlies and the ideal warm-up for the bigger test against Alicante-based Hercules of La Liga's Segunda Division on Thursday night.
However, Head Coach Juande stressed that results are not everything at this early stage of preparations.
"It was only the second friendly match and at this moment the most important thing is that the players know the style of the play and understand what we want from them," said Juande.
"For me, the scoreline isn't as important. What we are looking for is to improve the mechanics of our play. We need the team to play in the same format whether we're playing a big team or a small team."
Meanwhile, Juande is delighted by the squad's response to the hard training work out in Spain.
"The weather here is good, some days it's hot but working at 8am, 11am and then 7pm is ideal," he said. "In August, it's hot in England so we need to prepare to play in this weather and I'm happy with them, they are working very hard."
