Still only 19, Jon's workrate didn't go unnoticed by caretaker boss David Pleat while Fredi Kanoute will still be wondering how he failed to convert his wonderful low cross in the first half.
"Jonathan did alright," said David afterwards. "He worked hard and kept our shape for us because we changed to a 4-4-2 system.
"We wanted a left footer out there but he didn't have enough opportunities to get a quality balls in, although he got a couple in.
"The experience will do him good and you find out something from every game."
Meanwhile, David revealed that Bobby Zamora's omission from the 16 was because of a stomach complaint.
David Pleat believes Jonathan Blondel will benefit for his first start for the club in the Carling Cup win at Coventry City.
