Martin Jol has expressed his delight over Paul Robinson's long-term committment to the club.
The England No.1 has signed a seven-year agreement to continue his so far very successful stay at the Lane and Martin says the challenge of remaining first choice for his country should ensure Paul remains very much on top of his game.
"This is very good news for us," said the Head Coach. "Paul is a top goalkeeper, he is still young and the No.1 for England. We keep telling him it is difficult to stay No.1 and he has to keet working on that.
"The main thing for us now is to get him fit as he is one of the leaders in our team. He is an important player and I am very happy he is staying with us for the long term.
"I think a lot of other top teams would have liked to have him and he made the decision to stay here, so that was pleasing."
