Jol's joy for Reto

Posted on 22 March 2005  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Martin Jol has expressed his delight at Reto Ziegler's promotion to Switzerland's senior squad.

The 19-year-old received the call from Swiss boss Jakob Kuhn for the first time for World Cup qualifiers against France on Saturday and Cyprus next Wednesday, March 30.

Reto, initially selected for the Swiss Under-21s, has made quite an impact since joining us from Grasshoppers Zurich in August.

He made his Premier League debut at Everton in October and has made 24 appearances since including his first goal for us in the 5-1 win against Everton in January.

"I congratulated him and I'm so pleased for Reto because he's a terrific talent and he's a Spurs player," said Head Coach Martin.

"He's 19-years-old now but he looks much older when you see him play.

"Of course he still has to learn his trade but he's given me a problem on the left because now Andy Reid has come in and I played them both at Charlton with Andy starting on the right. He has talent and I wish him all the luck."
