John looking to move on

Posted on 4 March 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman sees tonight's friendly at Bohemians as the perfect chance to get Saturday's disappointments at West Ham out of our system.

The game can't come quick enough for our assistant manager who admits 'we let people down' in the 2-0 defeat at Upton Park.

"We wish it was a league game to be honest," said John. "We let people down on Saturday.

"We know we can play better and it just wasn't our day. We can't make excuses though and we don't want it to happen again.

"We've got nine games left and we have to be up for every single game, just like we were against Arsenal and Chelsea.

"There are so many points to play for and look at the league position - there is still a great opportunity for us.

"We've had injuries and been a bit unlucky but these things happen in football and it's important for the fans to stay with us and keep encouraging us."

John has played at Dalymount Park both in his time at Celtic and Spurs.

"There is such fantastic support over there," he added. "We have Irish fans in abundance and we want to give them something back. We'll have a strong side out and all the experienced players will be there.

"It will be nice to go out there and put on a show. We're looking forward after the weekend and want to put that out of our system."
