Joe Jordan sees Saturday’s trip to Sunderland as one of our toughest remaining matches this season.
Sunderland’s form at the Stadium of Light – just two defeats in 13 matches – has helped them climb to seventh in the Premier League.
Their position would have been even better but for last weekend’s 3-2 loss at Stoke, where they surrendered the lead twice before conceding in injury time.
That means they are seven points behind us in fifth as we travel to Wearside for a 5.30pm kick-off.
“They’ve had a fantastic season and you only have to look at the players they’ve brought in,” said Joe.
“Sully Muntari dominated that game at Stoke for over an hour. He was very influential. Kieran Richardson is playing in a position just behind the striker, Gyan is scoring goals, Sessegnon has just come in and looks bright.
“They are a team that has moved on and they were just behind us going into the matches last weekend.
“It’s one of the hardest away games for us between now and the end of the season because they’ve proved they can match anyone, home or away.
“They’ve had some fantastic results. Going to Chelsea and winning 3-0, that was one of the best performances from any team in the Premier League.”
