Jermaine Jenas has described Luka Modric as ‘the little magician’.
The Croatian midfielder clocked up his century of appearances for us in typically impressive style against Charlton in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Struggling to break down a determined Charlton in a goalless first half, Luka’s arrival as a second half substitute galvanised the team and we were 3-0 up within 15 minutes.
“When he came on against Charlton he was magnificent,” said his fellow central midfielder ‘JJ’.
“He looked so relaxed and that’s when you know a player is in a good place, everything just comes so naturally to him and that’s what’s happening to Luka at the moment.
“He takes the ball in under a lot of pressure and just seems to move in different angles to what is normal in football.
“He drifts around and moves the ball in different angles whereas teams and players play in very straight lines, he finds different angles and different pockets and teams don’t like it!
“As a club, we’re certainly enjoying the fruits of his good form.”
