But JJ conceded that we could not keep up our high level of performance throughout and believes this must be addressed.
He said: “It was very disappointing. We seemed to lack everything in the second half and have no edge, sharpness or creativity.
“Everything was a bit hit and hope and it didn’t quite work for us. We have to look at ourselves and realise that it wasn’t good enough but we stood strong in the face of a good Boro performance.
“We felt we would go ahead and create more chances after the first half and we did that, but didn’t take the chances.
“The Newcastle game two weeks ago was a big disappointment and we did well to get a point at Blackburn last week, so as well as Boro played, I’m disappointed we didn’t get the three points as we often do at home.”
Jermaine Jenas spoke of his disappointment after we failed to hold onto a half-time lead against Middlesbrough on Saturday.Although the midfielder gave praise to the visitors for their second half performance at The Lane, he feels we played well enough before the break to finish the job.
