Spurs U17s 1-1 Wolves

Coach Jimmy Neighbour was delighted with his Under-17 lads attitude as they fought their way back into this opening league fixture.

A goal down at the break and facing the packed ranks of the Wolves defence, they dominated the second half and eventually levelled through Claude Seanla.

Jimmy takes up the story: "It was a tough first half for us. They were quite a strong side, dropped very deep when we had the ball and broke quickly.

"We took half an hour to come to terms with that. In the first half they scored a good goal when a lad made a deep run from midfield so we were 1-0 down at half-time.

"They made it difficult because as soon as we had the ball at the back they'd drop everyone off into their own half and that's unusual in this football. It was up to us to try and break them down.

"But credit to the boys in the second half. They came out, worked hard and made three or four good chances. We were by far the better team.

"We had to be wary of counter attacks but otherwise the lads did really well. We equalised when Chris Riley overlapped and crossed for Claude Seanla to come in at the far post and score.

"In the end we deserved at least a draw and perhaps did enough to win.

"I was delighted with the attitude of the boys in the second half. You could they wanted to push forward and get something out of the game."
