Jermain Defoe is aiming to take his Spurs form onto the international stage next week.
The striker has helped fired us to the top of the Premier League with four goals in our opening four matches - wins against Liverpool, Hull, West Ham and Birmingham.
‘JD' hit the ground running with a double on his last international appearance as England drew 2-2 in Holland just days before the start of the domestic campaign.
Talk is now of him being in the frame to start Saturday's friendly against Slovenia and next Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Croatia, both matches at Wembley.
"I feel great, at club level it's been fantastic, four wins out of four and everyone's buzzing," said Jermain at Wednesday's media briefing.
"It's great to come in (to the England squad) feeling confident. It's the same with the other lads, everyone looks bright in training and ready for the games.
"All I can do is keep it going. I did say that if I'm not playing at the weekend, I'll keep positive, stay sharp in training and if I get on, try to make an impact again.
"I have to make sure that if I do get an opportunity, I'm ready.
"I feel positive. It's only normal when you have been in the squad and you are getting a fair opportunity, playing and scoring goals, that always helps as a forward.
"It's only the start of the season, I've started well but I want to keep it going and make sure at the end of the season I still feel this strong."
