Kyle Walker also played the full 90 minutes as the Three Lions came from 1-0 down to topple this summer's Euro 2012 runners-up at the Stade de Suisse, Berne.

Jermain entered the fray as a substitute for Andy Carroll at half-time and struck a fine winning goal with 10 minutes remaining.

James Milner led a breakaway and fed 'JD' down the left channel. He cut across from the left edge of the box before rifling into the top corner with his right foot. It was Jermain's 16th goal in 49 England caps.

Jake's big moment arrived in the 69th minute when he replaced Frank Lampard in central midfield and he didn't put a foot wrong for the rest of the match.

Earlier, Phil Jagielka levelled Daniele Di Rossi's opener with a diving header in the 27th minute.

Steven Caulker, the fourth Spurs player to be called up by Roy Hodgson, remained an unused substitute.

Elsewhere, congratulations to Rafa van der Vaart, who reached the 100-cap milestone for Holland in their friendly against Belgium on Wednesday night.

However, team-mate Jan Vertonghen had the last laugh on the night - he scored as Belgium came from 2-1 down to beat the Dutch 4-2 in Brussels.

We'll have a full international round-up on Thursday...
