The defender says it’s vital to capitalise on the positive feeling of our fine 5-1 win at Bournemouth last weekend and follow up back at the Lane.
“This is a very important game for us,” said Jan, ever-present so far in our 10 matches in the Premier League. “It’s two weeks since we played at home, so it’s nice to be back and we’re all determined to win.
“We’ve had good away wins in the past but not followed up in the next game so we want to continue our run and continue playing positively.”
Villa arrive at the Lane struggling at the foot of the table but you won’t catch anyone at Spurs taking this fixture for granted.
“It will be difficult, they will be hurting in their position,” said Jan. “But we have to win these home games. The pressure is on us.
“Bournemouth was one of our best performances of the season and there is a very positive atmosphere here now. We want to stay in the flow and take it into the rest of the week against Anderlecht and Arsenal.”
