Captain at the Liberty Stadium, Jan summed it all up by stating: “This team has that special thing.”
Jan admitted ‘it didn’t look good’ as we trailed five minutes from time but Dele Alli turned home Christian Eriksen’s volley to finally level and with seven additional minutes shown by the fourth official, you felt a complete turn around was on.
That’s how it turned out as Heung-Min Son and Christian made sure all three points were coming back to N17, our fifth win on the trot in the Premier League.
Below: Jan speaks to us at the Liberty Stadium
It was our latest come-from-behind performance - matches against West Ham (3-2 win from 2-1 down), Manchester City (2-2 from 2-0 down) and Wycombe in the FA Cup (4-3 from 3-2 down) spring to mind this season - and stats show that we’ve won 53 points from losing positions since Mauricio Pochettino took over ahead of the 2014-15 campaign, fully 13 more than any other team in that time.
“We’d played well without creating that many chances and with five minutes to go we knew the time was ticking,” said Jan. “Swansea were defending well but we had a couple of other comebacks at the back of our heads so we knew we could do it.
“The other comebacks gave us that belief. When Dele had the header (saved by Lucasz Fabianski in th 85th minute) you think ‘it’s not our night’ but then you know he’s always in the box, Christian can do special things and Sonny as well.
“This team has that special thing. We have all the quality but we also have all the belief. We didn’t know the other scores but it was important to win to extend that gap from the teams behind us and we did that. It shows what we’re capable of and that’s something special.”
