FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE

Wrexham U17s 2-2 Spurs

Jamie Slabber netted twice as our Under-17s grabbed a draw in their first competitive match.

Jimmy Neighbour's side made a fine start after a long trip to Wales and led after 30 minutes. Mark Yeates spotted Slabber's run, slotted the perfect ball through and Slabber made no mistake one-on-one.

Wrexham took advantage of a sticky spell just after the break to reply and take the lead on the hour mark - the second goal via a free-kick that took a deflection beyond the reach of Paul Rutherford.

But we hit back to grab a share of the spoils as this time Mario Noto released Slabber who finished from a narrow angle.

"We started well but just went to sleep for 15 minutes at the start of the second half," said boss Jimmy. "It was an even game and although I would say we have to keep the ball a lot better, there were plenty of good things out there as well."

Spurs U17s: Rutherford, Watson (Perry, 65), McKie, Barnett, Tyrie, Black, Noto, Wettner, Slabber, Yeates (Malcolm, 75), Ford (Dobson, 65). Unused: Ayre.
