The midfielder was snapped up on a free transfer from Liverpool last week.
After 11 years at Anfield, it was back to business for the first time in Spurs kit for the 28-year-old.
"I thoroughly enjoyed it out there," said Jamie after another batch of interviews. "It was exciting, the first day when you've been somewhere for so long and all of a sudden it all changes, it's like the first day at school."
And the session certainly opened his eyes further to the talent at the Lane.
He added: "It was a great training session and it wasn't until today when I looked around that I thought 'we've got some great young players here' so it's been good.
"At least I can get to know everyone better and get myself ready for next season, which is a good thing. I can get a bit of a head start.
"I feel good. I'm happy, excited and it's a nice feeling to have."
Jamie Redknapp was a picture of happiness after his first day at Spurs Lodge and beamed: "It's like the first day at school."
