Jamie Redknapp says he is looking forward to getting his pre-season programme underway against Hull City or Sheffield United this weekend.
The midfielder travelled to Sweden for the training camp before sitting out Tuesday evening's encounter with Stevenage.
Jamie reports that he is building up his fitness slowly in order to protect his knee, which underwent surgery last season.
"I'm good, I've joined in and will hopefully get 45 minutes in one of the games over the weekend," said the 31-year-old. "I'm looking forward that.
"I have to be a bit more careful perhaps because of the knee. If I overload it too much I will set myself back, it is frustrating for me as I would much rather do everything. I need a slower build-up to everyone else, but I am looking forward to the weekend and hoping I can build it up slowly towards the start of the season.
"It is not the ideal situation - I would like to play in every game and do every minute of training. Unfortunately with my knee I have to be careful."
