Jamie Redknapp expects Saturday's North London Derby to be every bit as passionate as any he has taken part in before.
The midfielder has featured in many Merseyside encounters in the past and also meetings between Liverpool and Manchester United, which have, in modern times, become just as intense as the local spats.
Now Jamie is preparing for his first North London derby and knows it is going to be special.
"Of course it is," said Jamie. "I've heard everyone talking about it and this is as passionate as any - I know for a fact.
"Obviously there are all different reasons why and it's going to be good - I'm really looking forward to it."
After the two recent setbacks, Jamie says there is a great determination in the camp to extract reward from the short trip to N5.
"Not many! It's going to be really good and we need a result. We've got Leeds coming up and we've want to go into that game full of confidence and not thinking we are desperate for a win."
Jamie missed the matches against Burnley and Sunderland through injury and illness, but declares himself fit and ready for duty on Saturday.
"I'm fine and I'm looking forward to it. I started training on Tuesday and everything was okay.
"I'm ready for whatever the gaffer decides to do, but I'm fit for it."
