Jamie Redknapp is in line to play at Everton on Friday just six days after minor surgery on a facial injury.
Club captain Jamie visited a plastic surgeon straight after Saturday's clash against Chelsea after suffering a badly cut upper lip in an accidental collision with his cousin Frank Lampard.
The midfielder wanted to continue but the flow of blood couldn't be stemmed.
The wound required over 20 stitches but Jamie has been back in full training this week and is determined to start at Goodison Park.
Acting boss David Pleat reported: "I'm pleased to say that Jamie is alive and kicking and back to his old enthusiastic self.
"He had a nasty cut and needed a minor operation around his upper lip and although he still feels uncomfortable, he could be okay."
