Ironically, club captain Jamie was injured in an accidental clash with his cousin, Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, in the 1-0 reverse at the Lane.
Jamie was making his first start since suffering a knee injury in September, but he lasted just 65 minutes before being forced off the pitch with blood streaming from his mouth.
He was determined to return to the action straight away but the blood flow could not be stemmed. No stitches were inserted and he went for treatment under anesthetic from the ground.
Acting manager David Pleat confirmed: "Jamie had a laceration of his upper lip and has gone to hospital for plastic surgery - otherwise he wanted to come back on and kick his cousin!"
Jamie Redknapp was rushed to hospital for plastic surgery on a severely-gashed lip after Saturday's defeat against Chelsea.
