The midfielder is delighted to take on the role and follow in the footsteps of previous President Les Ferdinand, now at West Ham.
Jamie told JSM members: "I'm delighted to get the job. I really am happy to have been offered the role by the Members Office. I couldn’t believe it when I received the letter inviting me to be President — I didn’t think twice about accepting.
"But I know I’ve got a tough act to follow because Les Ferdinand was an excellent President and a very popular one.
"I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Les all the best for the future and thank him for everything he did for you guys in his five-and-a-half years with us. He was a great servant for Spurs and a real joy to have around the dressing room, not to mention all the hard work he did with the JSM Club.
"So now it’s my turn and I hope I can provide as much enjoyment to you all as Les did. You might have to help me out to start with as I’ll still be learning the ropes for a while. The one thing I am worried about is working more closely with Chirpy — he’s mad isn’t he!
"I try to avoid him on a matchday because I never know what he’s going to do next, maybe you guys can keep him in check for me if you see us together at one of our JSM events. He could do with some football lessons though!!
"On the pitch, it’s been a bit of a tough season with consistency being our problem. We’ve managed to get some good results but not as often as we would have liked and that has led to us being where we are at this moment in time.
"Personally, I’ve been frustrated with an injury which has kept me out of action for some time now. I’m still hopeful that I will be back in the side before the end of this season and then I will look ahead to next year with fresh enthusiasm.
"Anyway, I hope my big news has made you as happy as it has me! If you want to send me a message, please do. I’d love to hear what you guys think of JSM and anything new you would like to see, just write to me at the JSM Office.
"Finally, I would like to thank you all for the support you have shown us all over this past season and I look forward to this continuing."
Jamie Redknapp has been named as our new JSM President.
