The midfielder, now about three weeks away from a playing return after suffering a stress fracture of the toe, admits it has been greatly frustrating to be sidelined during such a busy period for the team.
"When you're not playing you want to be involved, but it wasn't to be," reflected Jamie.
"I just want to get back because I was loving it - I really enjoyed early season with playing all the time and I'm looking forward to that coming back again."
Jamie's return will hopefully coincide with a sustained push up the table - one which he feels can be successfully climbed.
"There is nothing in it - just a few points off the Champions League spots. There is a lot to play for.
"We had a really, really tough period no matter what anyone says. The Christmas period was as hard as it can get and nearly all away games.
"We realise we have to concentrate on the league and try and get into Europe. It would be great for the fans to get there."
Jamie Redknapp is champing at the bit to get back and help the team in the quest for the European place that everyone at the club so craves.
