It was the midfielder's first competitive action since December and he reported no problems afterwards.
Unfortunately his influence in midfield and another impressive display from Milenko Acimovic were not enough as Arsenal capitalised on two minor mistakes to take the points in the FA Premier Reserve League clash.
After a bright start including a Redknapp volley wide and two efforts on goal from Acimovic it was the Gunners who took the lead after 24 minutes.
Alton Thelwell hesitated for a split second as he chased a long ball allowing Jermaine Brown to nip in, skip around Rob Burch and slide home.
That sparked the home side's best spell of the half and Burch had to be at his best to tip aside Nicky Nicolau's drive.
Undetered, we managed to get on top again by the end of the half and Mark Hughes was denied by Guillaume Warmuz's low save.
Play shifted from end to end in the second half as Burch gathered bravely at the feet of Brown, Steffen Iversen volleyed over and Redknapp curled into Warmuz's hands from 20 yards.
Redknapp was replaced after 65 minutes by Mark Yeates as both Acimovic and Rohan Ricketts tried their luck and at the other end, Nicolau somehow missed the target one-on-one.
Gunners secured the win with 10 minutes left as Ricketts lost control, Jermaine Pennant latched onto the loose ball and lashed home from the edge of the area.
