Jake Livermore is looking to take the next step in his Spurs career.

And the young midfielder knows it’s the biggest step of all – becoming a regular part of Harry Redknapp’s squad at the Lane.

Jake, still only 21, certainly put down a marker by scoring the winner in Saturday’s friendly win at Brighton and impressing the manager along the way.

“Jake is a lad with great attitude, wants to be a player, works hard, is a smashing boy and we hope he has a chance,” said Harry.

That’s a stance Jake certainly agrees with after loan spells with the likes of Derby, Peterborough, MK Dons, Ipswich and Leeds.

“I’ll just get my head down, work hard and hopefully be involved again this Saturday,” he said. “It would be nice to be involved and play at White Hart Lane.

“I just want to play. The gaffer said I’ll get my chance, so I’ll take his word for it and continue doing what I’m doing.

“There are plenty of games so hopefully they will be some squad rotation or I’ll be able to cement a place at some point.

“I’ve had my injuries, had my time out on loan and hopefully this is my time to play.”
