before being unveiled at a press conference at White Hart Lane this afternoon and announced: "I'm ready."
Our new Head Coach and former French manager arrived at the Lane less than a fortnight after France's exit from the European Championships.
"I am ready for my new club," insisted Jacques in quickly-improving English. "I am very happy. I have looked at the stadium and it's a magnificent stadium, White Hart Lane. I am looking forward to my first season at Tottenham.
"The chance to coach at Tottenham and in the Premier League is very, very beautiful for me."
Jacques is already looking ahead to the start of the Premier League campaign and a high-profile, televised clash against Liverpool at the Lane on Saturday August 14.
We follow up with trips to Newcastle (August 21) and West Brom (August 25) before returning home and Birmingham City (August 28).
He is aiming for a positive start. "We have five weeks to prepare for the season," he added. "We have confidence in the players and it is very important to begin the season with two or three good results. This is the first objective for the new season."
