Jacko targets extended run

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Johnnie Jackson agrees with David Pleat's assertion that there is a first team place to be seized on the left hand side in the coming weeks.

After the young midfielder's debut at Portsmouth on Boxing Day, acting boss David told the gathered media that there was an opportunity for Johnnie to cement a place and enjoy a continued run in the team, should his form warrant extended inclusion.

With Christian Ziege still short of match practice and Paul Konchesky now returned to Charlton, David is not blessed with huge options and Johnnie is ready to snare the chance of further Premiership run-outs.

"Definitely, with Paul Konchesky going there is a space because he was playing every week," said the 21-year-old. "It is up for grabs and, hopefully, if I can get in there and put in the performances I can prove that there is no need to play anyone else there. I need to show that with my performances."

His debut performance was such that he was entrusted with the duty of taking our set pieces, one he enjoyed and carried out with some aplomb.

"The gaffer told me on Saturday that he would change it as we weren't having much joy at Portsmouth. I know I am capable of putting balls in the right area and I was happy with my set pieces."
