Jacko lives the dream

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Johnnie Jackson admitted the nerves kicked in ahead of featuring in Sunday's derby - a game he'd dreamed of playing in since childhood.

The young midfield leftie was named in the side that faced Arsenal on Sunday - his first start since the Southampton game at the end of March - and he conceded that sleep was at a premium on Saturday night.

"I was a bit nervous, I have to admit," he revealed back at Spurs Lodge. "It was the one game I dreamed of playing in while I was growing up - a real boyhood dream.

"Obviously, it was wasn't a normal North London derby, there was a lot riding on it with them being able to win the title. We've been on a bad run and the pressure was on us to get something. It all added to it.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I was excited as well."

Johnnie added that he strongly suspected his dream was going to be fulfilled from midweek due to the way training was shaping up.

"I knew, more or less, from Wednesday onwards as the manager was hinting on it in training from the way we lined up. I didn't find out for sure until the Saturday and I had the whole day and night to think about it.

"I didn't sleep much on Saturday night and was tossing and turning a little bit. It was just brilliant to be involved."
