Our Norwegian striker cut his teeth in Champions League football with Rosenborg and played 15 times in the competition before moving to the Lane in 1996.
Unfortunately he's only played four UEFA Cup ties since and knows how much it means to players, management and fans alike to get back on that European stage.
Steffen reflected: "We had a good season, could have done better, but got to the quarter-final of the FA Cup and the final of the Worthington Cup.
"But We still haven't done what we wanted and that's to get into Europe. Next season, that has to be our target.
"We need to be in there. It means a lot to the players and the fans especially at Tottenham, because we haven't had the best of seasons recently to get into Europe.
"You can see things have been better, more stable and if we can just make that next step we'll have a chance of Europe next season."
Steffen Iversen insists qualifying for Europe is a must next season.
