Do you think Tottenham Hotspur were the only Hotspur to get their hands on some silverware last season? Well think again...
Introducing Hatch Warren Hotspur, an Under-8 team from Basingstoke, Hampshire. Not perhaps recognised as the hub of our supporter-base, but home to a team of young Spurs fans nonetheless - and a very successful one at that.
The side, led by White Hart Lane regular Den Patton, have won everything in sight over their two seasons of existence so far and, last week, they got their hands on the Carling Cup!
The lads were invited to The Lane to take a look around the home of their heroes, including the first-team dressing room, and also had their photo taken with yet another trophy as a reward for their efforts.
A delighted Den tells the story. "The team won their league title and the league cup so we did the double this year in only our second year. We also won the Under-7 league last season," he said.
"We're now going into Under-9 level for the new season and hopefully we can continue to be successful.
"I'm a Spurs fan along with my son, and he recruited most of his mates from school who also happened to be supporters of the Club.
"It was just a coincidence that there were so many Spurs fans in one area, so once we'd established ourselves as a team, we decided to call ourselves the Hotspurs.
"Our day at The Lane was a fantastic experience and all the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I think getting our hands on the Carling Cup was certainly the highlight!"
We wish the team every success for the future.
