A handful of our players were on duty for England in different age categories on Saturday.

As previously reported , Harry Kane went on as a substitute for the senior Three Lions side just before the hour mark in their 6-0 victory away to San Marino in Group E of Euro 2016 qualifying and scored his team’s fifth goal of the match in the 77th minute.

Ryan Mason was an unused substitute for Roy Hodgson’s side, who have now secured their place at next summer’s tournament finals. They next face Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday.

Elsewhere on Saturday, midfielder Harry Winks was deployed as a 73rd-minute substitute for England Under-20s as they beat Czech Republic 5-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at St George’s Park.

Young goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman, meanwhile, started for England Under-18s as they secured a goalless draw in Holland, despite playing for nearly an hour with 10 men.

Alfie (pictured, below) was substituted at the break as England made changes, while forward Kazaiah Sterling stepped off the bench in the 64th minute. Marcus Edwards was an unused substitute.


On the continent, defender Kevin Wimmer was an unused substitute for Austria as they registered a 1-0 home win over Moldova in Group G of Euro 2016 qualifying.


Ben Davies is in the Wales squad as they look to secure a place at Euro 2016 with a home match against Israel in Group B of the qualifying phase. Kick-off is at 5pm.

Belgium, who include Toby Alderweireld, Nacer Chadli and Jan Vertonghen in their squad, are also looking to qualify from the same group. They’re away to Cyprus at 7.45pm.
