The flying winger was in fine form again earning only his fourth cap for his country and lining-up alongside team-mate Kyle Walker.

The Spurs pair played the full 90 minutes down England's right and Andros almost grabbed a spectacular equaliser just before the hour mark.

Andros picked up the ball right of centre, drove at the German defence and then let rip from fully 30 yards - his effort cannoned back off the post with goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller beaten.

Jermain Defoe remained an unused substitute as Per Mertesacker's first half heade proved enough for the visitors.

Bongani Khumalo helped South Africa to a famous win against World and European champions Spain at Soccer City, Johannesburg.

The central defender currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers played the first half as Bernard Parker struck the only goal of the game in the 56th minute.

Jan Vertonghan put in a full shift and Mousa Dembele played for 72 minutes as Belgium were beaten 3-2 in a friendly by Japan in Brussels.

Paulinho remains in the Brazil squad scheduled to meet Chile in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Toronto.
