DeAndre Yedlin came up with a key assist for the US National Team in Saturday’s third place play-off against Panama at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but his efforts proved in vain with the States eventually losing out on penalties.

Sent on as a substitute on the hour mark with his side trailing 1-0 in Chester, Pennsylvania, DeAndre chested down Michael Bradley’s long ball and set up former Spur Clint Dempsey to restore parity with 20 minutes remaining.

With the scores still at 1-1 following extra time, Panama won the resulting penalty shootout 3-2 to secure third place at the tournament.

DeAndre will now fly to Denver to meet up with our squad ahead of the MLS All-Stars match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday night.
