Internationals - Belgian trio heading to Russia with momentum

The dress rehearsals came to an end on Monday night with Belgium’s win over Costa Rica and it’s now full speed ahead to the World Cup for our players currently on duty with their countries.

Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele all featured as the Red Devils came back from a goal down to register a 4-1 victory in Brussels, in what was the final pre-tournament friendly involving any of our stars.

Defenders Jan and Toby once again played the full match, with midfielder Mousa introduced off the bench with 20 minutes left.

Earlier on Monday, Heung-Min Son completed 90 minutes for South Korea as they lost 2-0 to Senegal in Austria in their last warm-up game before heading to Russia.

Belgium start their World Cup campaign at 4pm next Monday against Panama in Group G, with England set to take on Tunisia in the same group later that evening. South Korea meet Sweden in Group F at 1pm that afternoon.

Hugo Lloris is expected to be the first Spurs player to take to the field at the tournament when his France side meets Australia at 11am this Saturday. Christian Eriksen’s Denmark face Peru six hours later.
