Posted on 17 November 2015  - 10:05

A host of our players are set for action on the international stage today (Tuesday, November 17), but there was also one game involving our lads that took place on Monday.

Hugo Lloris is in the France squad for tonight's match against EnglandDele Alli is one of five of our players in the senior Three Lions squad

Academy regulars Charlie Owens and Chris Paul both started for Northern Ireland Under-19s as they secured qualification for the Elite Round of the UEFA Under-19 European Championships despite a 2-0 home defeat to Slovakia.

Both lads completed the full game, Chris going close to netting an equaliser for his side at 1-0, but results elsewhere meant Northern Ireland still went through.

TUESDAY ACTION

There are a number of senior international friendlies are taking place across Europe tonight, while it’s make-or-break time for Christian Eriksen and Denmark.

The Danes host Sweden in the second leg of their Euro 2016 qualifying play-off, with the winners of the tie going on to take their place at next summer’s tournament finals. Denmark trail 2-1 from Saturday’s first leg. Kick-off is at 7.45pm UK time.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and now Ryan Mason are in the England squad for their meeting with Hugo Lloris and France at Wembley, kick-off 8pm.

Elsewhere, in qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Nabil Bentaleb’s Algeria and Clinton Njie’s Cameroon host Tanzania and Niger respectively in second-leg matches. Algeria and Tanzania are level at 2-2 after Saturday’s reverse meeting, while Cameroon lead Niger 3-0. The 20 winners of these matches in Africa Round Two (40 matches in total) go into the final Round Three, where the five winners of groups of four progress to Russia.

Qualifying for the same competition takes a league format in other areas; South Korea, with Heung-Min Son in their ranks, visit Laos, Erik Lamela’s Argentina travel to Colombia while on-loan DeAndre Yedlin and the US national side will visit Trinidad & Tobago.

In European Under-21 Championship qualifying, Milos Veljkovic is in the Serbia Under-21s squad for an away match against Slovenia, while Republic of Ireland Under-21s include Kenny McEvoy among their number for a home clash with Norway.
