The young midfielder skipped over a handful of challenges on the left side before finishing well from inside the box to put his team 1-0 up inside nine minutes at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium.

He went on to complete the remainder of the first period before being replaced at half-time as part of a double change. Kyle Walker-Peters was an unused substitute for the Young Lions.

Elsewhere on Sunday, young centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers went on as a 76th-minute substitute for the US Under-23 side as they lost 5-1 away to Brazil in a friendly.

There is only one game involving our players taking place today (Monday, November 16) as Northern Ireland Under-19s, with Academy regulars Chris Paul and Charlie Owens in their squad, host Slovakia in a European qualifier.
