Paul Robinson pulled off a stunning first half save from John Hartson on his way to keeping another clean sheet as England recorded a 1-0 victory over Wales in Cardiff.
Robbo's show-stopper came just before the break when, from a Ryan Giggs cross, the Celtic striker powered in a downward header that the England No.1 somehow managed to shovel round the post.
Joe Cole scored the decisive goal on 53 minutes and England remain unbeaten in Group Six World Cup qualification. Jermain Defoe was added to the attacking mix on 68 minutes.
England did not stay top of Group Six for too long as Poland registered a 3-2 win over Austria in the 7.30pm kick-off. Grzegorz Rasiak set up Poland's second goal with an excellent downward header at the back post in the direction of goalscorer Kamil Kosowski.
Elsewhere, Teemu Tainio's Finland will not be happy with their afternoon's work in as they drew 0-0 with Andorra in Group One. Andorra have recorded just one official win in their history - a 1-0 success over Macedonia last October.
