Adam Smith made an impresive debut as England Under-21s came from 1-0 down to beat Israel 4-1 in Monday night's friendly at Barnsley.
The young full-back was joined by Spurs team-mate Steven Caulker in England's defence as the Young Lions turned the match around at Oakwell.
Steven, currently on loan at Swansea, came on late in the first half as a substitute for injured Baker while Adam, on loan at MK Dons, entered the fray at the start of the second half.
Adam was soon involved in the action as his pass released Marvin Sordell for the first chance of the second half. He was also involved in the move that led to England's equaliser through Waghorn in thr 58th minute.
Watford's Sordell hit a scorcher to make it 2-1 with Nathan Delfouneso's penalty and Henri Lansbury completing the scoring.
All eyes will be on Wembley tonight as Gareth Bale and Wales take on Scott Parker, Jermain Defoe and England in a Euro 2012 qualifying match.
Elsewhere, Roman Pavlyuchenko's Russia take on Republic of Ireland in a match that could go a long way in deciding Group B. Russia top the group by two points.
Younes Kaboul will be looking for another start as France travel to Romania in Group D while Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric face Israel in Croatia in Group F.
