Didier Zokora had the honour of captaining the Ivory Coast as they opened up the Kirin Cup with a draw against Paraguay in Japan.
The midfielder played a full 90-minute shift in the Mitsuzawa Stadium, Yokohama and went close to opening the scoring with an effort in the first half.
Kain Kandia Emile Traore eventually put the Ivory Coast 1-0 up after 73 minutes but Paraguay equalised through Cristian Bogado within four minutes.
Didier and his side next face hosts Japan in Toyota on Saturday with the three-nation tournament concluding with Japan meeting Paraguay on Monday.
It's a busy weekend of international friendlies but we only have one more player joining Didier in action and that's Robbie Keane, who is expected to captain the Republic of Ireland against Serbia at Croke Park on Saturday.
