International round-up

Posted on 10 February 2005  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Andy Reid and Simon Davies had a hand in goals in a good night for our internationals on Wednesday.

In the seven matches our players were involved in, four were wins and three draws with Ireland producing arguably the result of the night by beating Portugal 1-0 in a friendly in Dublin.

Reid played the full 90 minutes and set up Ireland's winner in the first half when his corner was prodded home by Andy O'Brien. Robbie Keane played for 83 minutes.

Davies completed his fourth full game in less than a fortnight and produced a delightful through ball for Craig Bellamy to score his and Wales' second goal in the 2-0 win against Hungary at the Millennium Stadium.

Paul Robinson was hardly tested in a 90-minute stint as England drew 0-0 with Holland at Villa Park. Jermain Defoe was an unused substitute.

Erik Edman played the full game at left-back as Sweden took the lead in the Stade de France before drawing 1-1 against France.

Thimothee Atouba played in Cameroon's 1-0 win against Senegal while Fredi Kanoute's Mali drew 2-2 against Guinea.

Our only player involved in World Cup qualifying on the night was Noureddine Naybet and his Moroccan team hammered Kenya 5-1 to go top of African qualifying Group Five.
