International round-up - friendly action

Posted on 10 September 2013  - 22:51

Roberto Soldado was on target as Spain rescued a friendly draw against Chile in Geneva.

The striker made it seven goals in 12 appearances as the European and World Champions came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to level in added time.

Eduardo Vargas opened the scoring for Chile in the fourth minute but Roberto was there to power home a header from Pedro's cross to equalise in the 38th minute.

Vargas netted again just before the break, Roberto was substituted on 65 minutes and it looked like Chile might hold on for a win until City's Jesus Navas struck in the 91st minute.

Paulinho started and played 82 minutes as Brazil beat Portugal 3-1 in a friendly at the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, USA in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
