International Champions Cup 2018 - full fixture details confirmed

Tue 17 April 2018, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We are delighted to confirm further details of our upcoming tour of the United States in the 2018 edition of the International Champions Cup (ICC), which will see us play three matches at some of the most high-profile stadiums in the country.

We shall begin our tour with a return to California and a first ever visit to San Diego where we will take on Serie A side AS Roma at the SDCCU stadium – the only stadium ever to host both the Super Bowl and World Series in the same year – on 25 July, kick-off 7.05pm local time (3.05am UK time). It will be our second successive summer meeting with Roma in the ICC after last season’s dramatic 3-2 defeat at Red Bull Arena.

We follow this up by returning to Los Angeles for the first time since 2012 as we take on La Liga leaders FC Barcelona on 28 July, kick-off 8.05pm local time (4.05am UK time) at the iconic Rose Bowl stadium, which hosted the 1994 World Cup Final. It will be our first encounter with the Spanish side in almost a decade, following a 1-1 draw in a pre-season friendly at Wembley Stadium back in 2009.

Our final match sees us head east to Minneapolis for the first time to face AC Milan on 31 July, kick-off 7.35pm local time (1.35am UK time) at the much-acclaimed US Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings and host of the most recent Super Bowl. The Serie A side has been resurgent under the stewardship of manager Gennaro Gattuso who was a player the last time we faced them in the Champions League, round of 16, which ended in a memorable 1-0 aggregate victory for us in 2011.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “We are excited to be going back to the US this summer. These fixtures are against top quality sides and will form an important part of our preparations as we look to arrive in the best possible condition for the start of the 2018-19 season.

“In my time at the Club we have always received phenomenal support from our fans in America and we look forward to seeing them all again in July.”

As a Club, we have an incredibly proud and loyal fan base across the Atlantic which includes 66 official Supporters’ Clubs – more than any other Premier League side. These ICC fixtures will provide our fans with a great opportunity to see the team up close as we prepare for the 2018-19 Premier League season as well as through our range of ever-popular supporter events which shall be announced in due course.

Pre-sale ticket purchases will be available from 24 April and further information on this and on-sale dates will be communicated in due course. Our official Supporters’ Clubs will be contacted separately. Disabled supporters only are advised to contact access@tottenhamhotspur.com.

You can follow all the news of our tour on www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spursinusa and across all of the Club’s social media channels using the hashtag #SpursInUSA.
