“However, Chris Casey has had an operation on his knee, he’ll be four or five weeks, Matty Wells is out for the season with his knee injury and David Button is an ongoing shoulder problem.”

The Academy had six players in the starting line-up for Monday’s reserve draw at Charlton and a further four Under-15 players were on the bench, Yaser Kasim and Adam Smith making their debuts in the second half.
