Injuries hit U19s

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Arsenal U19s 1-0 Spurs

Two quickfire injuries disrupted our U19s plans and ultimately led to defeat at Arsenal.

Midfielder Lee Barnett and striker Lee Barnard both had to be substituted with the score goalless but Pat Holland's lads couldn't recover from the losses and Arsenal grabbed the winner five minutes after Barnard's departure.

Coach Pat reflected: "It wasn't a classic. We were the more experienced side and we shaded it in the first half without really creating too much.

"To be honest it looked like a 0-0 but we lost Lee Barnett at half-time with a knee problem and then Lee Barnard had to come off after about an hour with what turned out to be a broken hand.

"So in the space of 15 minutes we've had to make two subs, reshuffle it around and we didn't recover from that.

"Arsenal edged it after that and eventually scored when we didn't deal with a ball after 70 minutes. It was shame after the run we'd had."

Spurs U19s: Burch, Foster, Galbraith, Hughes, Tyrie, Bowditch, Barnett (Slabber, 45), Wettner, Malcolm (Noto, 80), Barnard (Yeates, 65), Black. Unused subs: Rutherford, Perry.
