Injuries add to cup woe

Posted on 7 November 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Injuries to Les Ferdinand and Matthew Etherington added to our cup misery at Burnley last night.

Striker Les had to be substituted at half-time with a hamstring problem in the 2-1 Worthington Cup defeat at Turf Moor while winger Matty limped off on the hour after taking a battering in the first half.

Glenn explained: "Les picked up a hamstring and Matt got a kick and a twist on his ankle in the first half.

"We tried to see if he could continue but he couldn't giving us what he gave us in the first half and had to come off."

The only positive news for the boss was the return of Stephen Clemence and Darren Anderton for their first competitive action of the season.

Steve played the full game in central midfield while Darren replaced Matty.
