Hugo Lloris has stressed the importance of acclimatising to the surroundings in Brazil ahead of France’s first World Cup game against Honduras.

Les Bleus face their final pre-tournament friendly against Jamaica tonight (Sunday) before jetting off to Brazil, with their first outing in Group E taking place a week today.

Hugo, who captains the French national team, insists it’s vital that he and his compatriots can optimise their preparations in South America ahead of their opening match.

And as such, he’s looking forward to boarding the plane once this evening’s friendly in northern France is over.

“Our plan is to fly out after our third friendly game against Jamaica,” our charismatic goalkeeper said.

“It’s one week before our first game of the competition and the reason why we’re going at this stage is to help us deal with the jetlag and the atmosphere in Brazil.

“It’s going to be like our home out there for three weeks, one month, maybe more, so it’s important to feel good.”
